D Gooch sheds and fencing is a company who specialise in bespoke, hand made products for your garden. We also undertake fencing and decking installations.
We have a large selection of landscape products from sleepers to composite decking, from the world’s leading decking brand.
Our team holds a wealth of knowledge and experience in many aspects of design, carpentry, joinery and landscaping.
1985 - Day One

One day, Mr Gooch decided he would make a work bench so he could build his own panels and install them in the Thorpe St. Andrews area. This is how the Gooch sheds and fencing story begins.

The first premises were obtained and the small 1 man band company needed some helpers. I was there 3 years old with my hammer. This yard was soon to be outgrown.
1989- The wood yard

This was a very big step in a bit of a financial time when businesses were struggling to survive. My parents took the challenge and the company grew. I remember there was no office or toilets and it was no bigger than the current carpark. A small shack and some poles for sale. I’m telling you this from my memories as a 5 year old in my wellies. We used to have a small truck, I would go on journeys to collect timber and it was great.
Wow things really have changed.
2002 - Schools out

So it’s time for me to join the company, Gooch sheds was truly on the map, if you needed a shed or a fence you’d know to see Goochie. The team solid and growing, the site had doubled along with the advance of machines and forklifts. Artic lorries were delivering the materials for a now large range of buildings. I still wasn’t mature enough to see what an amazing job my parents had done to create a brand.
2016 - The adventure

I needed to spread my wings and take on a new challenge, I lost my connection but I decided to learn more skills. I formed Beams and braces, a company that specialises in bespoke joinery and timber frames and composite decking. I partnered with Trex decking and I am very proud of what has been achieved.

So I may have skipped some of the story, but trust me I’ve picked the exciting parts, if you want to know the whole story, I may write a book if I get time.
So my opportunity arises to take over the family business and fulfil my dream. I am blessed to have this opportunity to work alongside my partner Abbie. We have new products, designs and skills that we have acquired as we have grown our team of skilled staff who have a passion for great results. I look forward to writing the next chapter.
